Ann grew up in Seattle, lived in Hawaii for twenty years, and in 2022 made Summerville, S.C. her home.

Her mother and brother were artistic in drawing and painting. This influenced her as a child and  throughout the years, but she always hoped one day to learn how to paint. She finally took watercolor classes from a known artist while living in Hawaii. After several eight-week sessions, her teacher advised her it was time to show her paintings. The works she entered were accepted into shows and soon after she had her first solo show. She would sell annually at the largest juried art fair on the island, the Haleiwa Arts Festival and at various art fairs on Oahu. She has been painting and selling since 2008 and continues to paint primarily with watercolor. As of late she has been experimenting with mixed media, abstracts, metal leaf, paint pens and using new techniques in her work. Ann is known for her turtles, sea life, and florals. She loves to paint anything in nature and loves to use rich colors, sometimes a little sparkle, and various types of techniques, she takes an ordinary subject and transforms it into a colorful, personal expression, usually bringing the viewer a peaceful and tranquil feeling. She has sold in galleries and taught watercolor in the states and abroad. She has instructed diverse groups, such as kids camps, adults, private schools and specialized recreation, to name a few. Ann is really excited to be here in beautiful South Carolina, to explore, meet new people, experience the southern culture and to be a part of this amazingly talented art scene! You can view her work at Art On The Square Gallery in Nexton, S.C.  Ann is a member of the Summerville Artist Guild and shows her art in various art exhibits in the Lowcountry.
